Samsung's first foldable smartphone Galaxy Fold reportedly will cost $1,800
Although Samsung earlier introduced a screen that is elastic
and can fold (Infinity Flex), contrary to the expectations, didn’t present the
final product, which is a device that works on that type of screen.
This device is expected to be introduced sometime early next year, or at the MWC 2019 mobile fair in Barcelona after the introduction of the Galaxy S10 devices. The fair should be excellent opportunity to showcase this device and although that doesn’t mean that it will immediately go on the openmarket, we will have the chance to see it and see how it works.
Based on the research company CCS-CIMB Research from Korea,
or their report on the future of the folding phones, we get some information
related to the expected device from Samsung.
First, according to them, this device from Samsung will be called Galaxy Fold, which is to say an obvious name, which is not unexpected to be used for the first such device. Also, for the device to be manufactured the cost will be about $637, and will have a retail price of $1800.
The Galaxy Fold battery will have a capacity of 5,000 to 6,000 mAh, which is required for such a device, because anything less than this can be a problem and it will last for half a day. The report also notes that Fold will run the Exynos 9820 chipset from Samsung and Snapdragon 8150 for a version that will be available in the United States.
